Weekly Photography Project
This is the time of year people think of starting new photography projects. I know I’ve been thinking about it. I get so busy talking about photography, reading about photography and teaching photography that I need to set aside time for my own personal photography projects.
Have you ever done an extended photography project? The 365-day project is popular with photographers. However, many people (including me) find the idea of producing a photograph — every single day — completely overwhelming. My good friend André Gallant turned me on to the idea of creating a photo each week. He does a 52-week project. Much more doable. And even more fun if you use themes!
Themes are great if you sometimes get photographer’s block and can’t settle on a subject. Themes are also great for challenging your creativity and providing you with inspiration, things we all struggle with at some time or another.
If you miss a week just start with the next one. Here are the themes for the SPW weekly photography project. Please join us at our facebook group and submit your own!
